Abstract
This dissertation focuses on the transformation of Electrical Power Production in Greece. Due to the changes in the legislation for liberalization of the electricity market, the reduction of the emissions and customers demand for cheaper energy and benefits. The goal of this study is the investigation of the Strategic Management and Total Quality Management in the field of Electrical Power sector. According to the results, the market conditions are favorable for the entry of new companies, due to the positive growth rate. In addition, new investments in Renewable Energy Sources and natural gas production stations are preferred. The Public Power Corporation S.A. (PPC) was examined as case study, due to its unstable financial situation. The company now is reorganized in order to be transformed in a modern electricity provider. The operational strategic of PPC S.A. is growth and business strategy is cost leadership. In conclusion, Strategic Management can assist the transforming of Electrical Power Production industry using the philosophy of Total Quality Management.
