Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyse liminal and transitional spaces in the aspect of mobility. Using philosophers’ theoretical concepts and sociologists’ and anthropologists’ practical studies, the paper for-mulates the main approaches to the description of liminal and transitional spaces, provides insight into the specificity of these spaces within the framework of the anthropology of mobility based on the polyfor-mism of an individual’s everyday mobile practices. Scientific novelty of the research lies in demarcating the notions of “liminal space” and “transitory space” in the context of mobility. As a result of the research, the specificity of the spatial mode of liminality has been demonstrated, the differentiation between liminal spaces and transitional spaces in mobile practices has been made.
