Abstract

Actuality. Relevance of the article is conditioned by the necessity to summarize scientific knowledge of Event Management in Ukraine, due to the dynamic growth of demand in the labor market for specialists in event industry. Purpose and methods. The purpose of the article is to explore and review the scientific developments in Event Management according to the UK scientific tradition. The methodological basis for the study of the UK scientific tradition in studying Event Management is the scientific method of analysis and synthesis, the historical and comparative approaches. The theoretical basis of the study was the scientific publications of British experts in Event Management G. Bowdin, H. Pielichaty, G. Els and UK Centre for Events Management. The article has reviewed scientific publications of H. Pielichaty and G. Els from the Lincoln Business School (London) for regarding their definition of the concept «Event». Results. The main research results consist in summarizing the UK experts scientific views in Events Management, finding out its essence as a scientific discipline and basic concepts in the scientific tradition of British colleagues. The key stages of the development in the event industry in the UK were highlighted, using the publacation of British experts G. Bowdin, J. Allen and their colleagues in «Event management» (2011). The classification of events in the development of these scientists have been studied and presented. Conclusions and discussion. According to the UK scientific tradition in Events Management, it is determined that Event Management is an academic discipline, that studies design of the idea for event, Event planning, Event budgeting, financial risk and control, Event promotion, Event production, Post-Event Engagement. The scientific novelty of the research is in the summarizing of scientific developments in Events Management according to the UK scientific tradition in Events Management. The practical significance of the obtained results is that the key concepts of UK scientific tradition in Events Management are applicable for the elaboration of educational programs for the training of specialists in Event Management in Ukraine.
