Abstract

Objective of the study is: to consider the features of the institutionalization of youth volunteerism, to identify the factors that hinder its formation, and to identify promising areas for the development of the volunteer movement in modern Russian society.   The methodological basis of the research is the institutional approach. Within the framework of this approach, volunteerism or volunteerism is studied as an institution of civil society, functioning on the basis of such principles as integrity and solidarity. Research results. According to the author, the development of voluntary activity in Russia depends on how the institutional mechanisms that translate volunteer activity as one of the social norms work. The material analyzed in the framework of this study allows us to conclude that the experience of organizing volunteer activities, which European countries have, can be applied in the implementation of Russian volunteer practices. Prospects of the study. Volunteerism and volunteering can be positioned by the state as a national idea that requires information support to promote volunteerism.
