Abstract

With the emergence of transnational networks and the rapid development of transportation and communication means, migration of various international migrants, including migrant workers, students, and refugees, is constantly taking place. and the importance of international migration is emphasized, and a discourse that international migration plays a positive role in regional development(recipient country and country of origin) is being raised.BR Therefore, this study examined the international migration trend and international migration in Korea. And examined a correlation of between the positive and negative effects of international migration (especially migrant workers) and regional development. As a result, the correlation between international migration and regional development was very high, and positive and negative aspects existed between international migration (migrant workers) and regional development, but it was a win-win effect for both host countries and host countries.BR Governments should recognize migration as a key element of sustainable socio-economic development and actively promote international migration (migrant workers) human rights protection policies and migration programs.
