Abstract

The author reveals the specifics of the law regulation of freedom of movement of labour force in the European Union in a comparatively historical context. The author determines that the modern mechanism of the law regulation of the freedom of movement of labour force in the EU unites the liberal rules of employment and a high level of social protection of workers. The author notes that the primary fears and skepticism of some EU members states regarding the introduction of freedom of movement of labour force due to the gradual implementation of free market policies with the help of the fundamental documents of the EU, directives and decisions of the EU Court have been replaced by a moderate understanding of the economic, social and cultural benefits of its mechanism.
