Abstract

The discussion, that has been taking place in Poland for many years, on improving the quality of university education resulted, among others, in development of the concept of education quality management and creation of quality assurance systems at universities. Quality became a priority for many teaching institutions. A modern and effective education quality assurance system was developed in 2011 at the University of Wroclaw, thus the issue of quality and improvement of education became the most important for the University, as evidenced by the fact that this issue has become one of the most important points of the Development Strategy of the University of Wroclaw for 2013 – 2020 [ Strategia Rozwoju Uniwersytetu Wroclawskiego na lata 2013 – 2020 ]. The presented Model of the Strategy for Education Quality Management at the University of Wroclaw contains strategic and operational goals. They were grouped in five major areas: staff, quality management, didactic process, client, and cooperation with the environment. In the area of quality management, the strategic goals were: to create an effective, friendly, and flexible system for didactic process management based on procedures and good management practices; in didactic, on the other hand there were: to provide an attractive, comprehensive educational offer underlines both expectations of the candidates and needs of the job market. Consistent implementation of these goals aimed at achieving the highest quality in each of the specified areas resulted in a high rating of the University (which create and develop a culture of quality, understood as a collective responsibility for the educational that process respects personal needs each of participant) – at the end of October 2019, the University of Wroclaw was recognized as one of the 10 best public universities in Poland, specializing in education and highest quality research.
