Abstract
In the system of musical education of the younger generation a special place is occupied by choral singing as an alive and creative reproduction of musical and artistic images. Therefore, the art of choral singing requires mastering the technical and artistically expressive means of performance, which are necessary for the transmission of feelings, thoughts, ideological content of works. Such means include vocal and choral technique, which contains a system of singing skills, which include singing, breathing, diction, sound, ensemble. Considerable work is devoted to the formation of vocal and choral skills during primary pupils’ singing at music lessons. The teacher’s use of various vocal and choral exercises and games helps to strengthen singing skills and prepare children’s voices forvocal work. The complexity of singing contributes to the development of the whole set of vocal and choral skills. The more perfect the vocal and choral technique is, the more completely the idea of the work will be realized. Teaching children to sing is one of the most important, but at the same time the mostdifficult task of musical education. Despite there is some positive experience on this issue at primary school, vocal and choral activities with pupils at music lessons, in most cases, means just learning songs and working on the purity of melody intonation. It can be explained by lack of system of special games and exercises for the development of vocal and choral skills of primary pupils. To implement the tasks we used various forms of pedagogical work: music lessons,holidays, individual lessons, competitions, concerts. Based on modern methods and recommendations of famous teachers, we have selected adapted and systematized practical material for the formation of vocal and choral skills of primary pupils. Vocal and choral skills include: singing posture, breathing, sound formation, diction, purity of intonation, consistency, ensemble. All these skills are inoculated not sequentially, but in parallel.

Функції хорового співу корисні практично для кожної дитини. Хоровий спів, будучи найдоступнішою й найдемократичнішою формою виконавства, активно прилучає співаків до музичного мистецтва. Мета статті – розкрити значущість використання ігор та вправ у розвитку вокально-хорових навичок у молодших школярів. У своїх працях вони теоретично обґрунтували систему засвоєння вокально-хорових навичок, пропонують методику вокальної роботи з учнями, показали вплив виконавської співочої діяльності на формування всебічного й гармонійного розвитку особистості молодшого школяра. Навчання дітей співу – одне з найважливіших і найскладніших завдань музичного розвитку.
