Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the evolution of the socio-political views of Ye. Zamyatin, a Russian writer of the first three decades of the XX century. The paper attempts to formulate the writer’s views in their entirety, to explain the reason for his internal contradictions that appeared under the influence of the historical epoch and political cataclysms; to substantiate the emergence of the author’s main worldview ideals. The study is novel in that it determines the singularity of the writer’s socio-political views and their evolution on the basis of his journalistic writings, correspondence and prose fiction, considers Ye. Zamyatin’s creative work in the context of Russian history, culture and literature, identifies the writer’s connections with socio-political and literary groups, global philosophical thought. As a result of conducting a comparative analysis of Ye. Zamyatin’s works of various genres, letters, the researcher has determined the author’s holistic worldview position reflected in his articles and letters, in prose fiction, which became a continuation of the writer’s socio-political position.
