Abstract
Objectives This study was conducted to demonstrate whether social support has a moderating effect in the relationship between the risk factors of school interruption on school adaptation of multicultural adolescents.
 Methods In this study, the data of 31,329 middle school students (654 male students and 675 female students) who participated in the 6th year of the Multicultural Youth Panel Survey (2016) conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute were used for the final analysis.
 Results I The main results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was analyzed that the risk factor for school interruption was negatively (-) effect on school adaptation of multicultural adolescents. Second, it was analyzed that family support, friend support, and teacher support, which are social support, had a positive (+) effect on school adaptation of multicultural adolescents. Third, it was analyzed that social support has a moderating effect of protecting school adaptation in the relationship between school interruption risk factors and school adaptation.
 Conclusions Based on these research results, social welfare intervention measures were proposed to strengthen the social support of multicultural adolescents.
