Abstract
The Russian literary language serves as the basis for the formation of personality and the key vector in the upbringing of civic-patriotic qualities of modern youth. The author characterizes the main factors that contribute to the pollution of the Russian literary language: excessive use of non-standard vocabulary, borrowed words, internet language, the use of non-Cyrillic letters in writing words, which negatively affects the formation of worldview, self-awareness, and assimilation of cultural norms of the national language of modern youth. The essence of the concepts of "Russian literary language" and "patriotism" is revealed, and the axiological aspect in observing the norms of the Russian literary language, which embody the cultural heritage of the Russian people, is substantiated. The culture of language and the culture of words are presented as an inseparable connection of many generations, therefore, by fostering love for their native language from early childhood, a civic-patriotic position of personality, loyalty, and devotion to their homeland is formed.
