Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of job-seeking anxiety on career adaptability of col-lege students in the post-corona era and to verify the mediating effect of career decision self-efficacy and each sub-factor in the relationship between job-seeking anxiety and career adaptability. Methods For this purpose, 285 college students in the metropolitan area were surveyed to measure job-seeking anxiety, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career adaptability variables. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 and descriptive statistical analysis and reliability analysis. Process Macro Model 4 was used to ana-lyze the mediating effect. Results First, college students' job-seeking anxiety was found to have a significant negative effect on both career decision self-efficacy and career adaptability, and career decision self-efficacy was found to have a significant positive effect on career adaptability. Second, the mediating effect of career decision self-efficacy was significant in the relationship between job-seeking anxiety and career adaptability. Third, in the relationship between job-seeking anxiety and career adaptability, among the sub-factors of career decision self-efficacy, all factors except job information collection showed a significant mediating effect. Conclusions The results of the analysis suggest that post-corona college students should reduce job-seeking anxiety and improve career decision-making self-efficacy in order to adapt to their careers. In addition, the limi-tations and suggestions of this study were discussed.
