Abstract

Introduction. Since its establishment in 2003, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been in a state of permanent reform. The main source of reforms in the department is socio-political changes in the country and the participation of border units in the Joint Forces operation. Simultaneously with bringing the organizational and staffing structure of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in line with modern requirements and best international practices, approaches to working with staff are changing. The changes that need to be responded to by the heads of divisions are of a strategic nature and concern the organizational structure, adjustment of the final result of state border protection, technologies and the process of its organization, bringing professionally important qualities and moral and psychological condition of personnel in line with current tasks and the situation at the state border. As a result of these changes, the problem of manageability of bodies and departments deserves special attention and careful analysis. In such circumstances, the search and scientific justification of ways to increase the level of psychological readiness of managers to manage in a changing environment becomes an important scientific and practical task.Purpose. Identify the main approaches to the study of psychological readiness and formulate a working definition of the concept of psychological readiness of heads of operative-search units to manage the analysis and generalization of research results of psychological readiness, which will identify, systematize and clarify the content of various aspects. Originality. the working definition of psychological readiness of heads of operative-search divisions to management in the conditions of changes which is offered to be considered as a long-term mental condition formed in the course of professional and psychological preparation of the head for professional activity by improvement of his knowledge, abilities, skills, motives, beliefs, attitudes and personal qualities and ensures that they make adequate management decisions in a conditions of changes.Conclusion. The analysis of the scientific literature allows us to formulate a working definition of the psychological readiness of the heads of operative-search units to manage in the conditions of changes - a long-term mental state formed in the process of professional and psychological preparation of the head for professional activity, feelings, attitudes and personal qualities and ensures that they make adequate management decisions in a conditions of changes. Taking into account the results of the research, promising areas of further research can be considered: the study of psychological conditions to increase the psychological readiness of future heads of border authorities and units to manage change and in the conditions of changes; creation of a system of psychological support for change management in state border guards; development of scientific and practical recommendations for change management and in conditions of change of different content and nature.
