Abstract

Background Conduct of internal production control of conformity to requirements for industrial safety at hazardous production facilities suggests the involvement of highly qualified personnel, the amount and composition of which is determined by the complexity of the process, the production technology, and the quantity and specific features of the technical devices. Since there are no specialists being competent in all areas, it is advisable to use multi-disciplinary professionals. It is possible to minimize the labor input required to conduct production control, increase the effectiveness of control and, as a consequence, reduce the level of accidents and injuries through the use of information systems for internal control. Aims and Objectives For effective performance of the industrial safety management system at hazardous production facilities, hazard identification, planning and implementation of actions to reduce the risk of accidents, as well as the requirements of Rostekhnadzor were reviewed following the results of verification of industrial safety data, and the review results showed low effectiveness and poor quality of audits conducted by production control services. The authors identified factors that led to ineffective work of commissions conducting internal audits, and proved the necessity of using information technologies for production control. Results The technique of carrying out and recording results of internal audit of conformity to industrial safety requirements is presented, which allows to improve audit quality, reduce the time for audit, and assess objectively the status of industrial safety at hazardous production facilities.
