Abstract

The restaurant industry in the world is continuously expanding despite the economic and financial turbulences today. This trend will continue in the future, and some restaurants will be successful and become global leaders such as McDonald and Outback. Although some restraint businesses are easy to open and operate many restaurants fails their businesses. In global perspective, Chinese and Japanese restaurant businesses are growing and the numbers of these restaurants are increasing. Many people perceive and recognize Chinese and Japanese food as“oriental food”. Some Korean food or restaurants have entered in different markets in the world, but many failed and any renowned food or restaurants do not exist now. Therefore, this research examines the global restaurant industry and develops strategies for Korean restaurants to enter different countries and be successful. Different than Japanese and Chinese food and traditional Korean food is the major theme of the strategies that can lead Korean restaurant businesses to be successful in the global market.
