Abstract
We have developed an automatic tuning tool that defines all tuning constants in profile control in paper and coater machines. The tuning tool is installed in Windows PCs and those PCs are connected to our measurement and control computer systems by Ethernet communication. This tool executes step response tests of cross direction actuators automatically by using neural network theory and it defines automatically all tuning constants for performing cross direction control by using wavelet analysis and neural network theory.
