Abstract

Turbulence has become the new normal of the countries’ economies in the last decade of the 21st century. The idea of a new economic paradigm of greening economies, the pursuit of sustainable development and an attempt to preserve the biodiversity of our planet has become a new global economic trend, an increasing number of countries include greening the economy in their long-term development strategies. However, the concept of a green economy is idealized and not fully formulated, which complicates the practical implementation of the points of the new economy in the development strategy of countries. A high innovative load, significant costs for the greening of production stop the process of a green economy development. Green integration can become a key solution to the problem of introducing a green economy in many countries; it will contribute to the integration of economic entities, acting as a new stage in the development of a green economy. The subject of the study is green integration, features, prospects and obstacles for the development of green integration as a new stage in the development of the green economy. The purpose of the study is to show that green integration is a new necessary stage in the green economy development in the countries. The methods and methodology of the work: when formulating the concept of “green integration”, the definitions of green economy and integration; methods of retrospective analysis and synthesis are used; the historical stages of development of the green economy have been studied using synthesis methods. Results of the work: the article considers the stages of green economy development, it is shown that green integration, the desire to create which can already be observed on the world stage, and is the fourth stage in the green economy development; a definition of green integration is given, the structure of the “green integration” concept is reflected as well as positive and negative aspects of the green integration introduction within the framework of various integration associations. This article can be applied in the framework of the research on green economy, the problems of countries and integration groups transition to the green economy.
