Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of seed pretreatment on growth indices and tomato fruit yield in low temperature conditions, an experimental laboratory and greenhouse experiment was conducted in the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Mohaghegh Ardabili University in 2012. For this purpose, tomato seedlings obtained from pretreated seeds with concentrations of 1.5, 0.5 and 0.5 mmol of polyamines spermine, spermidine and putrescine and 50 mg / l methyl jasmonate for three consecutive days and daily for 4 days, respectively. The clocks were exposed to 4 ° C. Study traits include: stem diameter, plant height, number of days to flowering, number of flowering nodes, flowering and fruiting time, stomatal conductance and leaf chlorophyll content, number of fruits, average fruit diameter, total fruit weight, number of leaves, number of nodes, length Stem, stem diameter, leaf area, root dry weight and tomato fruit dry weight, total protein content and activity of peroxidase and catalase enzymes. The results showed that the effect of seed pretreatment on leaf chlorophyll content, fruiting time, day to flowering, flowering node, number of spikes, number of fruits, fruit diameter, fresh and dry weight of fruit and tomato peroxidase activity was significant. Cold stress significantly affected the minimum and maximum fluorescence and stem diameter. The interaction effect of seed pretreatment and cold stress on stem diameter and shoot dry matter percentage was significant. Seed pretreatment significantly reduced the flowering time of tomatoes, so that the maximum flowering time in the control treatment was 89.5 days and the minimum time was 81 days for pretreatment with spermidine.
