Abstract

The article attempts to find rational approaches to the study of institutional discourse. The focus of the work is on conceptual and methodological differences in applying the terms ‘institutional discourse’ and ‘discourse analysis’. Starting from the basic notions underlying institutional discourse, the authors subject it to rethinking and come to understand it as a process, tool and mechanism of psycho-emotional impact on a representative of the particular social environment. The authors suggest not identifying the term ‘discourse analysis’ with the research method, but regarding it as an approach or direction - research practice that includes various interdisciplinary methods, which have developed in the world science.
