Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct an overview on research patterns and changes in Korean education using video media that were published in Korea from 1999 to June 2019. To analyze the research trends, they were reviewed by year, type, subject, learner, and by research methods. This study analyzed 417 journal articles and dissertations related to Korean education using video media. Based on the analysis results, we would like to discuss some of the research trends. First, preliminary research should be done on learners and teachers. Second, there should be research on the development of textbooks and supporting materials. Third, the learning objectives of the target audience should be diversified. Fourth, education methods using video media should be diversified. Fifth, the application of various research methods is necessary. We hope that the study will be applied to actual Korean language education sites in the future.
