Abstract

Background We consider the study of the deposits chronology, which resulted in the opening of well-known deposits of the country – Verkhne-Chusovskoye and Ishimbayskoye in Pre-Ural fore deep. Subsequent detailed examination of the stratigraphy of the Permian deposits, investigation of reservoir properties, determination of the oil saturation of limestone and dolomite rocks will help to open a number of new fields. However, the results did not attract attention to the search of oil at the southwestern platform of the Republic of Bashkortostan because the open field reserves were small. Aims and Objectives The aim is to justify the prospects of development of Lower Permian carbonate deposits in order to find the recoverable oil. Methods An analysis of the history of the Lower Permian carbonate deposits Pre-Ural fore deep and the platform study part of the south-west of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the comparison of the results. Results The similarity of physical and chemical characteristics of Lower Permian and Tournai oils confirms the assumption of the unity of the oil and gas accumulation zones of the Carbon and Permian layers; moreover, it confirms the fueling of the primary hydrocarbons through vertical migration by faults. All of this means the high oil content of Lower Permian carbonate deposits throughout the whole area under investigation. Therefore, it is possible to open them as oil deposits with commercial reserves; their development is economically viable due to their location near the long-producing fields with developed infrastructure (Shkapovskoye, Znamenskoye).
