Abstract

Goal. To study the effect of carbohydrate and protein feed for the production of wax by bees of Ukrainian steppe and Carpathian breeds. Methods. Laboratory biochemical tests were used to evaluate changes in the content of nitrogen in the tissues of bees under different conditions of the experiment, statistical — has shown the average values and their deviations, analytical — review of the literature, analysis of research results. As study material they used tissues of bees. In the laboratory the samples of bees were dissected for the preparation of homogenate tissues and further biochemical analysis of the samples of bees as to the content of nitrogen. The object of the study was the honey bee, honeycomb, pollen, bee pollen, brood. Bee colonies of the Ukrainian steppe and Carpathian breeds were kept in typical 20-frames hives under the same conditions of care. Results. Experimental results based on the identification of regularities of the influence of protein feed in the production of wax and on physiological-and-biochemical indicators in the tissues of honeybees. It is established that through the use of protein feeding the level of production of wax from bees increases. In particular, the feeding of bee families of experimental groups with the pollen combined with honey in the spring-summer period led to an increase in the production of wax by bees of Ukrainian steppe and Carpathian breeds. Conclusions. Due to the protein feeding of bees, the level of production of wax in them increases. In particular, the feeding of bee families of experimental groups (in comparison with the control) with pollen combined with honey (1:1) in the spring-summer period led to an increase in the production of wax by bees of Ukrainian steppe breed on 0.26 kg (td=2,48) and, respectively, on 0.29 kg (td=2,45) by bees of Carpathian breed.
