Abstract

The article examines the contextual principles of Renaissance architecture. The notion of «context» is ambiguous. It is differentiated into a natural, social, cultural, historical and ideological component. The methods of interaction of architecture with each of these categories are considered separately. The study analyzed the writings of the greatest theoreticians of the Renaissance - Leon Battista Alberti and Andrea Palladio in the field of architectural theory and Gian Giorgio Trissino, AlevizoKornaro, Vironeze Paolo, Sebastiano Serlio and others. The study formulated the basic principles of interaction with the context of architectural objects.
