Abstract

Disruptive and emerging technologies apply in the business world providing with great opportunities. Digital transformation is changing the core of how business is done in three different areas: Customer Experience, Operational Processes and Business Model. In this Master Thesis, we will study Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector, which has traditionally moved at a slower pace towards digitalization. Today, the Financial Sector is experiencing an unprecedented change, with the emergence of data analysis and new technological developments in banking. The future of the industry is based on the customized customer experience and the take-up disruptive technologies. The rise of FinTech companies has already determined and is expected to further define the industry, while new competitors and technological innovations are constantly changing the business models of banks by creating a new banking ecosystem. Our study will be completed with a research on the banking sector in the three key areas of Digital Transformation from the approach of the banking executive in order to determine the ongoing procedure of Digital Transformation of the Banking Sector in Greece.
