Abstract

The article reveals the historical moments of the formation of legal psychology. The main works of scientists who contributed to the development of legal psychology at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are given, revealing the psychological and legal problems relevant to modern law enforcement practice. An attempt is made to consider legal psychology from the angle of psychological and legal significance. The problem of scientific schools of legal psychology in Russia is considered. The focus is made on the lack of integration of psychological science in jurisprudence and jurisprudence into psychology science at the present stage of the scientific development of legal psychology. In the article it is noted that, earlier, the development of legal psychology was dictated by legal science and practice. Today, there is a trend of a sharp transition of legal psychology into the psychological branch of science. The problems of teaching discipline in civil universities are touched upon.
