Abstract

When a port reconstruction project is planned, it is necessary to investigate ship safety and efficiency which may be affected by the alteration of shore shape or sphere. The authors have proposed a risk evaluation model for collision avoidance which can reflect the influence of geographical conditions, sea conditions and ship manoeuvrability. In this paper, the model is applied to port reconstruction planning, evaluating the difficulties of a ship manoeuvring in a harbour area and carrying out marine traffic simulation.
