색이름 교육이 색채 범위 인식에 미치는 영향 - 청록색과 녹청색, 황적색과 적황색을 중심으로

Abstract

Due to the nature of colors with unclear boundaries and the diversity of vocabulary describing colors, it is challenging to accurately communicate visual information. In particular, Korean color words confusion which does not specifically distinguish green and blue makes it difficult to differentiate the color range between the two. Thus, this study aimed to establish the color range of bluish-green and greenish-blue between the colors between green and blue. Moreover, the study established the color range by including yellowish-red and reddish-yellow, the opposition colors, in the study. This study conducted two experiments before and after color names education. Using 102 color samples of G, BG, Bin the KS Korea standard color digital palette, an experiment was carried out to determine the color range of greenish-blue and blueish-green. Also, using 122 color samples of R, YR, Y, an experiment was carried out to determine the color range of yellowish-red and reddish-yellow. The first experiment was given to 32womenwho had not been trained in color names. After color name training for them, the second experiment was performed to investigate how the color range vared before and after the color name education. As a result, the bluish-green color was recognized in the range of 7.5G~7.5BG, and the greenish-blue color was recognized in the range of 10B~5B. The saturation of bluish-green was higher than that of greenish-blue. The yellowish-red color was recognized in the range of 7.5R~2.5YR, and reddish-yellow color was recognized in the range of 5YR~10YR. The lightness and saturation of reddish-yellow was recognized higher than that of yellowish- red. Since the characteristics of the color according to the color name were apparent and the results were consistent with the concept of the color name in the second experiment compared to the first experiment, it was confirmed that the education had an effect.
