Abstract
This article examines the definition of happiness from the point of view of different authors. The emphasis is placed on the fact that in recent years in Russia, due to the raging mentality inherent in the Russian people, as well as growing inequality in society and a number of other factors, the overall level of happiness has been decreasing and the irritability of members of society is growing. The factors that, according to the authors, influence the overall feeling of comfort and the level of human happiness are identified and considered in detail. The data of surveys for 2023 are presented, demonstrating a rather mediocre level of happiness of respondents.
