Abstract

This study was aimed to present a basic data to suggest the direction of making good use of leisure-time for high school taekwondo athletes by investigating the relationship between leisure constraints and satisfaction based on the types of leisure. This study was on the assumption that taekwondo athletes would improve on their performance. For this study, the data of 404 was collected from high school taekwondo athletes in Seoul and Kyeonggi area, and data was analyzed with SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0 program for the descriptive, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, ANOVA, and correlation analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, leisure constraints was the most affected by recreational type of leisure activity, active type of leisure activity was located in the highest rank in the leisure satisfaction. Second, the influence of mediator was verified that the effect of leisure satisfaction according to leisure activity types comes from leisure constraints. In conclusion, coaches should need to encourage taekwondo athletes to active type of leisure activity in order to raise the leisure satisfaction.
