Языковая политика Республики Кыргызстан на ближайшее пятилетие: приоритеты и реализация

Abstract

In 2020, the “Program of State Language Development and Improvement of Language Policy in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2025” was officially published. This program is considered as a timely strategical adjustment of the language ecology, taking into account the achievements and problems of the current language policy, and also a continuation of its previous version. This article analyzes the historical context of language policy development, lists the priority areas and describes the main characteristics of the implementation of the Program. The following conclusions are given on the basis of analysis and statistics: the new policies are focusing on the increasing function of the Kyrgyz language, improving the quality of teaching, as well as attracting its wide and active use in the sociocultural sphere. The priorities of the Program include the following contents: strengthening the legal basis for the development of the Kyrgyz language, development of teaching methods and scientific style in Kyrgyz language, mobilization of massive social forces in the implementation of language policy and development of Kyrgyz language with the help of information technology. The process of implementing the Program is characterized by the emphasis on updating the methodological standard and improving the Kyrgyz language teaching quality in general education system.
