Abstract

UDC 658.3; JEL Classification: М 120 Purpose. The purpose of this study is a detailed review and study of various management styles, identifying their advantages and disadvantages, as well as determining the optimal style of management for a modern enterprise. Methodology of research. The methodological basis of the work is the scientific works of outstanding scientists and materials from periodicals. The method of analysis and synthesis was used in the study of authoritarian, democratic and liberal management styles, their advantages and disadvantages. Findings. The paper discusses various management styles: an authoritarian style − management, somewhat similar to the dictatorship; a liberal style − management, in which leadership almost does not interfere with the work of employees, providing them with practically complete autonomy in the work and choice of tasks; a democratic style − management, when leadership of department is performed collectively with the participation of the employees themselves. The analysis of each of the management styles with the determination of their positive and negative sides are performed. Correspondence of various management styles to certain business situations is determined. Originality. The considered three management styles are effective for various departments of the enterprise and for solving the various production problems, where the most important task for the leader is to choose a management style that will bring maximum effect for the employee and the employer. Practical value. The results of the study allow to establish such a relationship between the manager and subordinates, where the manager must behave in such a way that, depending on the situation that develops in the production, their relations have maximum productivity in the enterprise.
