Abstract
研究目的フロントトツプシートとシリンダ間のゲージの変化が鎧綿 (Flat Strips) の量を変化せしめることについてその根拠を把まんとするのがその目的である。研究結果1. 並掃除後の運転経過時間と鎧綿量の変化は従来考えられていたような直線的変化でなく特殊の曲線である。2. シリンダの運行は一つのフアンの運動と見做される。これによつて起された気流によりフロントトツプシート入口において真空作用が起されるものでモルトン教授の言われるオリフイスによる真空現象ではない。3. 附帯的研究として摩耗したフラツトワイヤ及びシリンダワイヤの鎧綿への影響.トツプワイヤ側に綿中の短毛やネツプが多く附着し反対にシリンダ側にはそれらが少くて長繊維が多く附着することの機械的推論、鎧綿がフラツトワイヤに附着する実態の観察を行った。
