Abstract
This study aimed to analyze bilateral and ipsilateral peak torque of quadriceps and hamstring muscles and the muscle architecture characteristics in college wrestlers. Nine college wrestlers were enrolled. We measured the maximum knee muscle strength of the preferred leg and nonpreferred leg at 60°/sec and 180°/sec. The muscle architecture (thickness, pennation angle, fascicle length) of the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medial, biceps femoris, and semitendinosus muscle was measured using ultrasound. These findings suggest that the knee muscle strength ratio of bilateral and muscle architecture ratio between the preferred leg and nonpreferred leg were different in college wrestlers. Also, in the preferred leg, muscle strength ratio and muscle architecture were higher than the nonpreferred leg in college wrestlers.
