Abstract

The article examines the trends in the development of mass media in Kyrgyzstan, and the features and role of the media in democratic processes. There will also be a historical analysis of the topics of information materials in the independent mass media of the country. The role of free newspapers in building the rule of law is emphasized and the contribution of journalists to it is reflected. The historical mission of the independent media in the coverage of gender issues is revealed. Gender issues were considered patterns of a transit society during the transition from a totalitarian regime to a democracy. In this process, special attention is paid to the educational role of independent mass media.
