Abstract

An innovative heat shield film with high energy-saving performance is being developed under the TherMAT project. The new heat shield film with high visible transmittance and low solar heat gain is realized by using nano multi-layered films. Their performances have been improved by the optimization of polymer designing and the refining of the multi-layer laminating apparatus. The practical energy efficiency of the film was evaluated by AIST. AIST is developing new evaluation method of energy performance of heat shield films. The developed heat shield films in this project were installed to the testing facility in AIST. The cooling and heating loads of air conditioner and energy flow through windows were evaluated. These results show that the energy-saving level of the developed shading film is 10% higher than that of the commercialized product.
