Abstract

On the basis of analyzing the literary sources the author clarifies the essence of the key notions: method, method of projects, project activity, educational technology and gives an analysis of the researches and publications. She considers the method of projects as the innovative educational technology at primary school, in particular defines the purpose and the tasks of educational projecting. The author outlines the trends of project development in link with the activity, number of subjects and participants, the duration of performing, the nature of contacts and partnership. She describes the peculiarities of project activity and the role of a teacher in managing the junior students’ projects; makes the conclusions about the necessity of applying the project method at primary school. The method of project is an effective didactic means of activating the students cognitive activity, developing their creative and critical thinking, and forming the personality traits.
