Abstract

<p>The clinical course of traumatic lesions of the oral mucosa in children depends on the anatomical and physiological age features. The aim of the study was to evaluate the characteristics of injuries of the oral mucosa in children. This was a retrospective study of 67 patient records. The mean age was 11,8 ± 3,7% years. The main cause of injury in children is mechanical damage - 76%. Much less was recorded thermal - (12 %) and chemical injury - (10.5 %) of the oral mucosa. By the nature of injury most often identified individual erosion - 28%, ulcers - 18% and multiple erosions - 15%. In 33% of cases of traumatic injuries of the oral mucosa in children has been associated with dental treatment.</p>
