Abstract

The article proves that «second religiousness» («resacralization») has some similarities with the early mythological era and contrary to it as exemplified in modern culture. The paper reveals that the specificity of the «second religiousness» of European culture is the tendency of combining religious and mystical teachings with the idea of evolution of natural science. «Second religiousness» is characterized by universalistic tendencies which combine various kinds of philosophical concepts. Given feature reflects the synthesis of science and religion, and combining various sacral teachings. The transformation of traditional sacral foundations is also featured during the period of the «second religiousness». The example can be found in the era of the decline of cultures such as Greco-Roman of late antiquity and Russian before the Russian October Revolution.
