Abstract

The paper aims to study influence of administrative and territorial transformations of the Soviet period on the size and structure of the Adyghe population. Scientific originality of the research involves a comprehensive approach, which allows revealing influence of administrative and territorial reforms on regional ethno-demographic structure. The research findings are as follows: the author identifies the basic stages of administrative and territorial transformations in the Adyghe autonomous region, describes changes in administrative and territorial division. The conducted research allows concluding that changes in the size and structure (first of all, national structure) of the Adyghe population were a result of administrative and territorial reforms.
