Сравнительный социологический анализ культурных профилей студенческих субкультур в России и Беларуси

Abstract

The aim of the study was to carry out a comparative analysis of the cultural profiles of student subcultures in Russia and the Republic of Belarus and to identify the cultural distance between the students in these countries. The study was carried out by means of questionnaire survey in both countries using the same tools. The main result of the study and its novelty are that the systems of value orientations revealed in the cultural profiles of Russian and Belarusian students have been found to be almost fully identical with each other in regard of the selected aspects (systems of value preferences and the sense of community (unity) with groups of people about whom we can say «These are US»), and at the same time, the presence of differences in the historical self-consciousness and national consciousness of Russian and Belarusian students have been revealed. No less serious differences have also been revealed regarding the desired choice of the country of future residence: a significantly higher percentage of Belarusian students see their future outside Belarus. It should also be noted that, while continuing feeling themselves as part of the big “Russian world”, some of Belarusian students have already oriented themselves to the West rather than Russia for solving the social life problems. The obtained results made it possible to draw a conclusion that Russian and Belarusian students have deep roots of cultural and national traditions, and that they have much in common in terms of values and culture, so that there are no objective cultural grounds for Belarus to fall out from the “Russian world”. At the same time, there still are social conditions that urge young people to emigrate outside the Russian world area, and there are serious transformations that have occurred in the consciousness of Belarusian students that drive them away from the Russian cultural world.
