Abstract

The research objective involves identifying linguistic peculiarities of the Evenk epic texts. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the author for the first time provides a comprehensive linguistic analysis of epic texts at different language levels. The study is conducted by the material of the Evenk folklore, which has not been previously investigated. The following conclusions are justified: the Evenk epic text contains stylistically neutral vocabulary, the language of narration is simple, tropes are absent. The findings indicate that alliteration and assonance are among the most frequent phonetic means in the epic legend. Verbs prevail in the epic text, and it makes the story more dynamic. The syntax of a heroic legend is characterized by the use of simple asyndetic sentences.
