Abstract

Definition of negation in the Ossetian language. Transfer of negative semantics of syntactic designs in language in the intonational way, without use of lexical means of expression of negation which meet generally in informal conversation when negation is expressed without use of negative components. Definitions of the term « implicit » . Opposite to implicit negation is explicit negation. The explicit way is obvious, expressed formally. And implicit – hidden, it is formal also the grammatical not expressed. Types of implicit negation: verbal and syntactic. Verbal it is comprised the sense of the word which doesn't have a negative component, designating an absence. Syntactic meets as a part of syntactic unit. Implicit negation in the Ossetian language takes the place, but, nevertheless, it meets much less often, than the explicit, formally expressed negation. Rhetorical questions and exclamations can also express negation. Existence in such designs of a negative element on sense does offers affirmative.
