Abstract

The article is dedicated to investigate the formation and development of the justice idea in the western philosophical and legal thought. Author treats the first theoretical conceptions of justice in Europe as suggested in works of the Ancient Greek philosophers and interpreted in the Middle Ages. The development of the justice concept in the New Times, as exemplified by research of justice by the European philosophers and legists of XVIII–XX centuries. The present article is based on works of thinkers of different times (from Ancient Greece to present times) and traced the origin and development of the justice idea.
