Abstract

The aim of this article is a comparative analysis of the ethnic identity of the linguistic picture of the world of paremiological units of three languages containing a gender aspect.
To solve this goal, the following specific tasks were outlined: to highlight the corpus of paremias of Russian, English and Korean that contain a gender aspect; to conduct their comparative analysis; to systematize language material in the form of semantic groups, based on the selected semantic structure of each group; to identify the general and national-specific in the representation of the same semantic group.
For the convenience of describing the paremiological picture of the world of the three languages from the point of view of the gender aspect, we have divided the collected material into several semantic groups, including “The appearance of a man”; “The appearance of a woman”, “Morality and moral qualities of a man”; “Morality, and moral qualities of a woman”; “Man”; “Wife”; “Father”; “Mother”.
After conducting a comparative analysis of the proverbs of the three languages, it turned out that the images of men and women in three cultures: Russian, English and Korean are described almost simultaneously: many paremias, reflecting views on the relations of men and women from the point of view of universal values, have much in common, some coincide in meaning, however, the national-specific ones were also reflected in the paremias of three countries.
