Abstract

The article analyzes the causes of interferential errors in the use of Russian prepositions and conjunctions by Chinese students. The typical errors of Chinese students in the use of Russian prepositions and conjunctions are caused by interferential influence of native Chinese on Russian. The typical mistake in the use of Russian prepositions is to use them as separate words without taking into account the formal and semantic relatedness with nouns in syntaxemes. The typical errors of using Russian conjunctions occur primarily in the group of subordinating conjunctions. We believe that the main causes of the difficulties in the use of Russian subordinating conjunctions lie in the fact that it’s difficult for Chinese students: 1) to understand the functional differences of Russian conjunctions and prepositions; 2) to learn the formal autonomy of Russian conjunctions; 3) to identify the role of the conjunctions as communication means of parts of a complex sentence; 4) to distinguish between the complex conjunctions and free combinations of words included therein. We must consider these features in teaching Russian to Chinese. Special exercises for relieving these difficulties can help successfully overcome interferential errors in use of Russian prepositions and conjunctions.
