Abstract

The aim of the study is to reveal the structural and compositional construction as well as the genre and thematic content of R. Gamzatov’s poetry collection “In the Midday Heat in the Valley of Dagestan”. The article holistically and broadly analyses one of the interesting and important collections in R. Gamzatov’s creative work relating to a complex, but at the same time fruitful stage of his creative activity - the end of the XX century. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that R. Gamzatov’s book is introduced into scientific circulation for the first time and becomes an object of the detailed study. As a result, it has been proved that the collection consists of political, civil and love lyrics, as well as satirical poems by R. Gamzatov, which reflect socio-economic and political transformations in the country, in particular the processes of perestroika and its development.
