Abstract
The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of teacher-student relationship and peer relations in the teaching-learning process of physical education classes on students’ academic interest and task persistence. To achieve the research purpose, middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do were defined as a population, and 415 were collected with convenience sampling method. With the collected data, multiple regression analysis was conducted using PASW Ver 18.0 statistic program. The results are as follows: First, teacher-student relationship and peer relations in physical education class had statistically significant effects on students’ academic interest. Second, academic interest in physical education class had statistically significant effects on students’ task persistence. Third, in the physical education class, teacher-student relationship and peer relations showed statistically significant effects students’ task persistence.
