Abstract
The purpose of this study is to assess the mediation effect of sport weness between self-management and burnout in basketball players. Basketball players were recruited from high schools and universities. 354 questionnaires were included in the analysis. Analyses were performed using statistical softwares (SPSS Ver. 23.0, AMOS 23.0). Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation coefficients, multiple regressions, mediation analysis and hierarchical regressions were conducted. Mental readiness, training management and daily living management were associated with emotional depletion. Physical conditioning, mental readiness and personal routine management significantly predicted personal routine management. Interpersonal relationship was a significant predictor of impersonalization. Physical conditioning, interpersonal relationship and daily living management were associated with horizontal relationship in team-life. Interpersonal relationship, mental readiness, physical conditioning and personal routine management significantly predicted horizontal relationship in team-life. Mental readiness significantly predicted vertical relationshipin team-life. In addition, mental readiness and interpersonal relationship were associated with vertical relationship in team-life. As a result, sport weness is proved to be the significant mediator between selfmanagement and burnout.
