Abstract

The proposed article describes the main determinants of professionalism in politics and some areas of its provision in modern Ukraine. Based on the ideas of N. Machiavelli and M. Weber, the controversial nature of the influence of intellectual achievements on the specifics of modern political activity is clarified. Objective and subjective characteristics of political professionalism are considered. Politics as a social phenomenon is manifested in two interacting dimensions - Науковий часопис НПУ імені М. П. It was found that the subject of political activity, on the one hand, depends on society and the objective circumstances in which its development takes place at a certain historical stage (requests and requirements of public opinion, real needs, and interests of social groups, etc.), on the other hand, his activity depends on subjective characteristics, personal qualities (ability to achieve goals, the experience of state-building activities, compliance with moral and legal norms, organizational skills). Possibilities and prospects of real implementation of political professionalism as an integral part of the modernization of Ukrainian society, which provides a combination of science and education in a holistic set of knowledge in the system of training on the basis of higher education of political scientists; concentrating efforts on the problem of conformity of the chosen specialty and internally conditioned vocation of a specific individual with proper stimulation of talented students; formation of socially conscious policy actors, improvement of their professional and leadership qualities.
