Abstract

The article presents a new approach to choosing key elements of the macro-logical system of the Greater Urals. Analysis of the modern evolution of the system is based on schemes and programmes for the development of trunk transport and logistics. The research relies on the principles of a systematic approach and methods of system analysis, analysis of evolutionary patterns, analogies, generalisation of given documents on the development of productive forces and scientific literature. Balance analysis revealed insufficient compliance of the capacities of the transport and logistics system links connected with each other, forming a dry port of Ekaterinburg. At a qualitative level, the study provided a technical and economic comparison of variants of the railway network connecting the dry port of Ekaterinburg with the Northern Sea Route.
